Exactly. I put a small washer down first to prevent scratches from the nut. I held the shaft with needle nose pliers and started the nut by hand and then once I had purchase, used regular pliers to tighten

Removed the nut, pulled off carefully with fingers, cleaned w/ goo gone

I did…needs some Goo Gone and patience, but I prefer the look without it

I've never had any issues using a leather strap (HOME | Bear Straps | Handmade Leather Guitar Straps) and I've always preferred to wear my bass low...

Back to a Jack! Forgot how much I love these things! Picked up a well used ‘08 ebony JCB that was being used in a music school and sold via Reverb. Lots of cleaning, removal of number bezel, change out truss rod cover, generous coating of fingerboard honey, new flats, and a little setup…and...

Apologies...I stepped away from playing for a couple years to focus on running sound for a couple bands...so wasn't following TB much, and TBH the idea of the numbers always seemed a little childish to me. Somewhere along the line I thought I handed off the Club to someone else...but I don't...

Both the treble and the bass controls work well...and provide for a variety of useful tones. Besides the look, I think the brass nut does give the instrument a better tone and resonance (slight difference, but noticable if you're listening)
