    Sire Marcus Miller M7/Ibanez BTB745

I play both Sires and Ibanez. The Ibanez is lightweight and if your model has the Bartolini pu that’s good. The Sires are terrific, the M series is not heavy and the sound is great. The Sires have better tone woods which makes a huge difference. If you buy from Guitar Center, you have 45...

If you could only play one bass brand forever

Changing my vote from Ibanez to Sire Marcus Miller. Just got the P7, hands down the best.

If you could only play one bass brand forever

Since I have 5 of them, I have to go with Ibanez. But I also need a Fender sound so the Squire Jazz is terrific. There are so many excellent basses out there at every price, what a pleasure, much better than the "old days." I will try a Sire Marcus Miller when the virus is over and that could...

I played an EB 2 for years in the 70s. Hollow body.

Squier Vintage Modified Jazz bass vs. Fender MIM Jazz bass

Thanks to you both. Forgot to add on my post that I also had a 70s Precision that I never really liked and just sold. Vintage basses were awful, also had a Mustang and Gibson EB 2. All gone. Would anyone say a vintage car is better than the modern ones? The P bass was tone deaf with little...

Squier Vintage Modified Jazz bass vs. Fender MIM Jazz bass

Im Sure this thread is dead but I had the same dilemma between MIA Jazz and Squire Mod 70s Jazz. I bought the squire off the self at GC because it was set so well set up and sounded great. My band liked it! So I thought how much better would the MIA sound? So I ordered one and it never left...

    Ibanez SR500 VS SR1200e Premium.

I own both but notice that both produce kind of a clicking sound when I hit a note which I think comes from the pickups. I can’t play these with my jazz group cause it drives me nuts. There isn’t fret buzz and strings are fairly new. Anyone else experience this? May switch to a Fender Jazz.
  9. Gallien-krueger Mb112-ii Combo Amp

Review by Roadog66 on the item 'Gallien-krueger Mb112-ii Combo Amp'

I use one in a band, volume wise it works but begins to break up with some basses. I found a used Fender Bassman 70 at GC and it’s a beast (and cheap, 70 bucks! But too heavy for me to lug around so it stays home. If you are ok with lugging around a heavier amp, do so but if weight is a big...

    New Ibanez SRMD200

Wonder if you can unload it to me. I live close by in Olney and can return the one I just bought.

    New Ibanez SRMD200

Yes, the 32 neck sounds way better than the 30 which cannot achieve good bottom sound. This has a range of tone, played it a long time yesterday, think it’s a keeper. Not usually a slap guy but it was fun on this thing. Sounds more Fender than my vintage P bass, what a surprise. Does not...

    New Ibanez SRMD200

I just bought one. Sounds way better than the muddy sounding Mustang which I am very familiar with. It gets very bassy with the active pickups. The demo shows a particular sound to appeal to slap happy bassists and it also does that well enough. The stock strings are bad and need to be...
