Sire Marcus Miller M7/Ibanez BTB745

So right now I have a Squire Vintage Modified V Jazz bass, even though it's in the $380 price range, at least when I bought it, I'm trying to see if I can get something else (while still keeping my Squire.) I am between a Sire Marcus Miller M7 or an Ibanez BTB745. Which one should I go for, they are both close to $1,000 price range, and I want to see what you guys think. Have any of you played either bass?

I'm sure the Ibanez is fine, and a good value. but I can say from personal experience that I love my Sire M7 fretless (gen1, I hear gen2s are even nicer).

I play both Sires and Ibanez. The Ibanez is lightweight and if your model has the Bartolini pu that’s good. The Sires are terrific, the M series is not heavy and the sound is great. The Sires have better tone woods which makes a huge difference. If you buy from Guitar Center, you have 45 days to try it out but you must be near one to return it.

my band guys actually prefer my Sire P7, has the Fender tone on steroids. The M7 is a different sound as is the Ibanez.

either choice is good.
