Thor knew my brother in RI pretty well and we once ran into him at an open mic he was running in Newport while I was visiting. Somehow we didn't put it together, although over the years we had interacted quite a bit here on TB. Years later we shared a few phone calls and then we eventually had a great hang at a RI GTG. Super cool and very funny guy, no doubt.I met a handful years ago at a DC area GTG. Although I never met him in person, I use to talk on the phone for hours at a time with the late great Thor. Funny thing is, we never really talked much about bass, mostly just life. Great guy RIP brother!
I lived in Birmingham most of my life. Vendor at UAB hospital. Transferred to another part of the state about 13 years ago.Only through in-person deals. All were super cool.
Heck, that Yammy is certainly worth a bout of tug-of-war.View attachment 7562760
@Isaac_James and I got to know each other through TalkBass and get along far better than this image would suggest.

Sure isHeck, that Yammy is certainly worth a bout of tug-of-war.
A big bonus of meeting Isaac was that our families immediately hit it off as well. As it turns out, we have far more in common than our YamahasView attachment 7562760

I've slept with a bass, but don't get the wrong idea, buddy. It wasn't like that. What about marriage?
Both are friendly, genuine, & a pleasure to associate with.
