Problem is, my "band" isn't really interested in actually playing. I try to rally them, but they just don't love playing music enough. So all I can do for now is to learn new songs, and try to master them. Maybe someday I'll find some people to play with.

Genre is mostly classic rock/blues. Bass is a Yamaha RBX 800a, and soon a Fender P-Bass. Want at least 50 watts, like a more warm rich sound, want a combo.

Rehearsal didn't go so well, bandmates were distracted, didn't really seem motivated, but not a total failure. We thought up some new ideas, and were able to get China Grove down(except the guitar and vocals). Still in desperate need of a singer though.

I don't know, I've never done a rehearsal or anything of the sort. I was just asking what to expect and how it SHOULD go. We're trying to be an original band, but writing original music is tough, so we just want a mix of covers and originals for now.

I've seen many bassists use the 3 finger strum technique, or even 4 fingers, but is this really necessary? If so, when should I start to practice it?

Just looked inside the bass, the black wire that goes into the battery was falling apart, and ripped when I gently took the battery out, I put tape on it, and put it into another battery. Still sounds the same. Probably should solder the wire.

Yes, it used to sound fine at high and low volumes, but it slowly got worse, then I changed the battery on the bass, and it stopped. Was fine for 2 months, then the buzzing returned, and worsened quickly. I changed the battery again, swapping the Energizer for a Duracell, but the buzzing sound...

Bass is a Yamaha RBX 800A, amp is AXL AA-B15, 15W, original Yamaha pickups.

If I turn my pickups volume(on the bass) over 25%, or my amp volume over 50%, its making a terrible buzzing sound, then if volume and pickups are turned even higher, its starting making a warped sound, almost like a bad distortion. I suspect that its the amps fault, but is there way to fix this...
