    How 'real' is this '70 P-bass?

    I borrowed this Pbass from my son in law. The serial number is in the 280000 range, which makes it a 1970 model. I feel totally confident that the neck is original, but the body is pine, not ash. Is this possible? Looking for comments from you guys who are experts at Fender history...TIA...
