LH injury: did the short scale help?

I've been dealing with tendonitis in both wrists since my days in college for jazz guitar. Technique adaptations have mostly solved that problem for me, but playing a lot of bass (guitar, that is-- no upright for me) can still be a trigger. I've recently had another flareup that has me thinking...

    Tennis Elbow - Help!

Hi folks. After struggling with tennis elbow (tendonitis) and not being able to play for 2 months I finally went to see the doc two weeks ago and had a steroid injection on the outer elbow (caused by repetitive movement of the forefinger and middle finger) and it sort of did the trick (90% - I...

Tendonitis in my plucking hand. Any advice on technique to heal this? Thanks!

I've been playing bass with a bent wrist for decades now. Starting to have issues with my fingers, wrist, and forearm. Any advice on changing my technique to improve this? Should I get a pickup cover to rest my hand on like Jameeson did? Thanks

    Beginner ulnar injury

I started playing the bass around two months ago. However, I was playing 2-3 uninterrupted hours a day with relatively poor technique and no strap, and around 2 weeks ago I developed tendonitis down the ulnar nerve of my fretting hand. It’s the most pronounced in the pisiform bone at the bottom...

    Ouch! My wrist!

I just recently started playing my new/used 2004 Stingray. My other primary basses are an American Performer Precision and a Sterling Ray34 (which, in theory, the new Ray will replace). To date, I've had no issues with any of my basses in terms of impacting or damaging my hands or wrists...
