LH injury: did the short scale help?

I've been dealing with tendonitis in both wrists since my days in college for jazz guitar. Technique adaptations have mostly solved that problem for me, but playing a lot of bass (guitar, that is-- no upright for me) can still be a trigger. I've recently had another flareup that has me thinking about switching to a short scale.

Before I go hunting for a new bass, I wanted to ask if folks here who switched to a shorty for injury-related reasons could talk about their experiences. Did the move to short scale help? If not, what did?

Yes, I've managed to greatly reduce the frequency and intensity of painful episodes by making technique adaptations, but I still sometimes have pain/ reduced range of motion during periods when I practice a lot. Bass is a worse trigger than guitar for me
