.050 - .100 Flat wound bass strings with black wrapped ends.

Hey there, I just received a really nice 2017 Fender Standard MIM Fretless jazz bazz and it has .050 - .100 Flat wound bass strings with black wrapped ends. Can anyone tell me which brand these are? They play sooooo nice! Id like to get some back ups sets.

I think for the first year or two, you could only get 45-105 or 50-110. Wasn't until they were successful with them that they started with the wuss gauges I like :D

I love the 45-105s but they're getting expensive. $50! Gotta shell out for my Mustang because they're the only 45-105 medium-scale set that I like, but I'm gonna have to go elsewhere for my big basses.

Ya, glad I got all my flatwound buying done last year while the prices were still down. Wonder if it's a temp supply-side issue. I know a lot of MXR pedals are backordered, too.

I dunno. They seem to be easily available, but maybe they figured that if they were gonna be selling the same amount of them, they'd rather sell them for more than run out.

Haha. Yeah, I think the accuracy of a caliper plus the tolerance of unknown strings in a non-laboratory environment you could safely say +/- 0.005” is reasonable. And since you measure close and likely know the brand you are going to get the right set.

yeah, Im hoping.. I wont have the bass back home till Sunday night where I think at that point ill take some known strings and fit them into the topnut to get a better idea of the gauge, I dont want to spend $60 on strings just to have to set it up again. The bass is set up perfectly now so I would like to keep whatever strings are on it.
