Double Bass 1/4" Attenuator for Piezo

This topic came up in the Yamahiko thread again, so here's another update: I read somewhere else that the capacitor extends the low frequency response of the piezo pickup, so I tried cutting the lows even more than usual and success! I thought my ears were telling me that the cap was acting like an LPF and that I needed to dial in more highs, but I guess that was wrong.

My opinion could still change. I've lightened my gigging schedule and am only playing a few gigs a month for now, and those are mostly very low volume gigs where my bass provides most of the sound. I don't expect louder gigs to change my conclusions so far, but with DB, who knows.

At some point I might buy either the Neutrik Timbre plug or Ultimate plug, each of which have a little knob that selects a low value capacitor (with one position being no cap at all). IDK what the values of the caps are unfortunately. I was also thinking that it would be handy to mod the plug and make one positions a mute.
