1 pc vs 3 pc neck

So, Im moving forward on my plans for building my 5ver this summer and Im addressing the issue of my neck. So can someone explain to me if there is a huge difference between say a 1pc maple neck and a 3pc. either way my neck will have graphite rods and a truss rod. thanks as always

3pc. is more stable over 1pc......and if you use 2 diffrent woods then it just looks plain cool!

Yes a 3 piece should be more stable if the grain alternates. And why do you think you need carbon fiber rods in a 5 string? Just use good strong wood and you'll hardly have to touch the truss rod without them. A good truss rod can do any adjustment and stabilizing you might need.
