For sale $10,000 obo - Upton Opus 64 Professor Special Deluxe

I thought this gorgeous bass would be the last bass purchase I'd ever make. I've had it for just over a year and a half and I've only played one gig with it. It has been on the stand idle for most of the time. I have two jobs and I'm in grad school (again) and I really have no time to play bass. It just doesn't make sense to leave this sitting here.

This is one of the special basses fully carved by Upton (in 2009) from an enormous English Sycamore log. Flat back as you can see, cello style tuners, adjustable bridge, extended fingerboard, German made end pin.
Beautiful flame and gorgeous amber varnish. It is a showpiece.

I put some Zyex strings on it. The Spirocores on it before were fantastic too, and waaaaay loud. Plays so nicely. I'm just not that great of an upright player and I know there are some out there who really deserve to play a bass of this level. This bass will last you a lifetime.
