.130 vs .135?

Hey there.
I'm about to procure new strings for my bass. I'm currently using a set of Elixirs, .45-.130, tuned to A, which actually is very good once you get used to the touch required.
Now, what I'm wondering is how the low A changes if I step up from .130 to .135? I've ventured up into serious gauge-territory, and I know that heavy strings might sound great on fingerstyle, but the massive thuddy attack on the fretboard does not lend itself great upon slapping (This was a .145).
So, when it comes to slapping, how does a .130 compare to a .135? Is it less lively to the degree that you'd stick to a .130?

So you have your whole bass tuned down a whole step? I would put the biggest strings you can find on that thing. the lower you tun down the larger the strings. 135 works fine for slap bass.

You start getting an audible lessening of transients as you hit .140

What is your D/E string? A .135 ought to keep similar harmonic content as a .130, and may fall in line better with your next higher string as tension goes.

Are you at 34" or 35"? I can never remember....

Already went that route once. Didn't work well for slapping.

I'm at "35, and my current D-string is a .105 (All the listed .135-sets seem to use .105's too).
What I'm most worried about is whether the heavier string has so much more extra weight that the fretboard attack becomes more of a massive clunk rather than the springy trebly punch one desires when slapping.
