There's just no reasoning with some people
I played a gig last night...three band showcase in a rather large club.
Band 1: small hartke 300 watt head and 410 rig. It sounded passable.
Band 2: swr workingman's 15 combo-sounded horrible-thin, underpowered, not very present.
Band 3: I used an eden wt800B bridged at ~1200 watts into a Dr Bass BL212. It was huge, thick, clean, and devastating. I'd like to think some of this "was my fault," but the fact that I had 1200 watts for thick creamy Eden goodness behind me probably had a lot to do with it too...

I was talking to a bass player in another band one night and he told me what he used, and then he asked what I used, and I told him how much power I had, available, and he flipped out, couldn't believe it, said I'd never need that much, and then he went and told the club owner on meand I got into a fight with him, he told me that that much power would bring the cops in. :scowl:
even 500w makes a big difference than what i was using....im getting it, hopefully soon, but the BIG positive of working there....i get everything at trade price now
