Double Bass 1950 Frank DiLeone

I bought this DiLeone bass on an estate auction in New Haven last year. Barrie Kolstein replaced the fingerboard, bridge, endpin, strings, restained it and fixed a big seam crack. I just got it back. I like it.

Nice and congratulations but why did it have to be restrained? In my experience it is more often the player who could use some restraint.
Correct. I need restraint buying all these instruments since March 2020. Seriously, one of the shoulders was a different color. Then the seam opened up. So Barrie somehow got everything a better color. Not sure how he did it but the bass has a more even stain. That’s what meant by re~stained. Sorry for the word that’s probably not a word.
