1959 Precision Bass

Paint is looking a little krinkly, time to bust out the krylon...
I’m guessing that’s a slight three-tone sunburst as it’s a 59. Hard to beat that or the 57 P look (two tone sunburst, Maple board, anodized gold pick guard). Beautiful bass.
I'm going to need a moment...alone...it's sooo pretty!

Just kidding of course; the '78 is actually a great bass - it's still with me, but it can't compare to your '57!

Lookin' good for it's age.
The three tone sunbursts of that era often look more like a 2 tone.
The reds they used became known as fugitive reds.

I don’t ever foresee myself seriously entering the market for vintage anything, but I do daydream of a ‘59 Precision just like that one.
I estimate about half the price someone would probably list the volume and tone knobs for alone on Reverb today.
I purchased it from a local dealer in NYC. Don’t know much about it’s history but the dealer was one of those guys who used to do road trips looking for vintage gear.
