That's pretty much it. Eko manufactured guitars/basses for UK Vox, and that link explains the relationship. Brian Jones was seen with the mando…

But otherwise that bodystyle didn't exactly take the world by storm. Phantom Guitar Works issues repros of the classic Vox stuff, including the Mando Guitar…

Always thought this was a stylish design. Classy name, too - "Auriga" means plowshare, which is a fair description of the shape.

You may be thinking of "aratro" (plow). "Auriga" means "charioteer", in either Homeric, Bronze-Age warfare or Ben Hur, ancient chariot-racing contexts.
