Actually, I’m surprised that someone didn’t correct me and tell me it’s “foam green”. But thanks for the correction.
Regarding vandalism, if a real 62 Jazz lives up to its mythical status, and after plucking one note on it, I’ll have an epiphany and finally understand what a real bass is, I damn well would play it out. I mean if I had 20 grand, and if it was a “tone monster” that cannot be duplicated with today’s technology, I’d be playing it out next weekend. I’m no stranger to collecting stuff for collecting sake, but it’s a musical instrument. I hope somebody buys it and gigs it out. I don’t see any sense in unearthing something like that and having it passed on from one collector to another collector for generations to come like it’s a Honus Wagner baseball card. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against Honus Wagner. But, I hope some dude who just got divorced, and whose ex-wife constantly complained about him buying yet another bass, and who just received a check for his half of the house says, you know what, I’m buying that mf’er and you know what beotch, you can’t stop me now, and I’m going tear up Old Time Rock And Roll like nobody’s business next weekend with my buddies that tried to warn me about you before I got married, but I wouldn’t listen to them. So there.
