IIRC, TP / Cheap Trick used the same model when I saw him...get this...July 14th, 1978 at the Capitol Center opening for British Lions and Blue Oyster Cult. This is coming from a guy who can't remember what he had for lunch.

Its very possible that particular bass has been in the hands of a famous player or two........so, yeah, I would certainly prioritize history...keep us updated
