Up for sale is a really cool “rat rod” restoration of a 1973 musicmaster bass. It sounds so good. Parts: Original bridge Original body Original neck/neck plate/nut Curtis Novak GT-V Goldfoil wound for bass (seriously killer pickup - I have two basses with Curtis’ Bi-sonics in it and this very much holds its own) Hipshot Ultralight clovers Old aluminum knobs from a 70’s radio Older Squier bronco pickguard Neck is solid as a rock. Plenty of life in the truss rod. Honestly I like the feel of the neck more than most p basses I’ve played. The finish… has lived a lifetime of pain. I’ll post more pics tomorrow. Honestly, I wanted to refinish it but the color looks so cool it left me conflicted. Asking $850 shipped CONUS. Potentially open to trades as well. Maybe a Roadworn P or J bass?
I’m going to add some more pics of the bass in a little bit. It weighs about like my strat - maybe 7-8 lbs? Super light. Here’s a couple of clips of the bass. One is just a clip I sent to my buddy so ignore the horrible upshot to my nose lol. The other is a clip of me using it at church with some overdrive.
Here’s a few more pics. Like I said, it’s had a rough life. But the finish could be redone rather easily. The neck feels SOOOO good.
Man, I know we all have our reasons, but it sounds perfect in that live clip. Don't let that one go, man!
