1986 Fender Precision Bass - anyone know what this is?

Hi all,
New to the forum, but longtime player and very happy to finally be here!
So, I recently came across this Fender Precision bass. Except for the fret board, it is all gloss black, including the entire back of the neck. The hardware is all black as well including the neck plate. As you can see, it only has one set of precision pickups with single volume and single tone knobs. The small scratch plate that is underneath the volume and tone knobs appears to be decorative only, as the bass has an access cover on the back to get to the pots and the jack. It was made in Japan and the serial number indicates it is a 1986 model. Does anybody have any idea what model this is? Sorry I only have the one picture…I can post some more this evening. I'll add that I just put a set of fresh Rotosound rounds on and it is a great sounding and playing instrument! Thanks in advance!!
