1991 Peavey Unity Case

I have a 1991 Peavey Unity, four string bass. It's a neck-through design made with koa and purple heart sandwiched together. Bone stock. Gorgeous Bass. My question to you all: If the bass were for sale, alone, would you care if it had the original (although cracked and slightly warped) Peavey hard case?

I'm thinking about selling the case, or giving it away if none want to pay for it. The case takes up too much space in my small music closet and it's not like this is a bass everyone is dying to have, right?

Thanks for the perspective.

That looks like a fairly standard bass shape so someone probably wouldn't have too much trouble finding an aftermarket case if you didn't decide to include it for whatever reason.

But, if you're planning on giving the case away anyway, why not include it with the bass and get both items out the door at the same time? Would save you some time, not to mention add some peace of mind during shipping too, if you sell online. And it's a lot easier to pack a case than it is to pack a bass.

Thanks for the advice. It was my first and a really decent playing bass. I'm just thinking ahead to when I give it to my kids or sell it because I can't play any more.

If we were talking the original plastic blow mold case; it would be a 'bass only' deal.

After owning 60+ Peavey basses I refuse to have another of those cases in the house :D

Lousy design to store, lousy design to carry, foam that degrades into a black gloop, prop open pins that bend or work out the locating holes. Whoever thought those features, paired with 12lbs of plastic, was clearly nuts.
