Fix for sunken lines on fretless?

I'm considering getting a defretted Warwick and I noticed that the lines were sunken slightly. I messaged the seller and he said they are below the board, about a millimeter. The fretboard is wenge and the lines look like maple filler so I'm assuming they shrunk at some point.

Is this something I should pass on or could the void be filled with clear epoxy or

would the lines just have to be replaced?

That looks like putty to me, and it does indeed shrink, that's why it's not a good thing to make lines with.
I suppose the real fix would be to dig out the putty and inlay wood.

^^^ I'm seeing the same thing. Best to actually clean it out by [insert comments by actual luthiers] and installing actual veneers.

Those look like you’d probably notice them while playing even if they don’t affect playability, and they could. I’d also agree they look like wood filler and not veneer. I’d scrape and / or saw them out and install actual veneer.
