1997 Korean Squier P Bass any good?

Thinking about trading my unused guitar for a 1997 Korean Squier.
Looks like it's in decent shape.

Anyone have any experience with this era Squier? Decent builds? Your opinions would be appreciated!

we have one of those at the practice space, it's pretty nicely put together, but the neck is big, therefore if you aren't into big necks or you have small hands i'd steer clear

Mine is rather heavy and I think the body may be made of plywood. I have small hands and normally like skinny Ibanez necks, but my Squier's neck doesn't feel that big.

If it's plywood anything like my Zombiecaster ('80s Squier Bullet guitar), then it will ring for hours. Never mind weight and glue, it's likely to be resonant.

My best P bass of all time is that same bass which is now highly modded. Grab it.

My favorite era of Squire outside the Japanese era.

I still have a Jazz from this era and I used a P just like that one for years as my main bass. Great basses! I'd get it if the deal is good. Wouldn't bother me a bit to rock it.

Good to hear. Yeah, I'm trading a guitar that hangs on the wall. was going to post it soon for trade so as long as it plays ok I'll be happy.

I just picked up a 97 Squier P for a steal and it plays and sounds great. I'm in the process of upgrading all the bells and whistles now. Definitely worth it

The Korean Squier's are very good ones. Pretty hard to find. But, will you be ok with the Squier name?

Absolutely. I just needed a P Bass for recording. It's about the sound.
My main bass is an 80's 4 string Pedulla Buzz that I've had for a long time and will always be my go to bass.

I found a NOS ‘96 Squier Strat this era for my brother in law in a mom and pop going out of business sale for $100 after negotiations and it’s an awesome playing / sounding /looking guitar. (Red body, maple fretboard) Grab em when you can.

Should have a nice neck and good sound, but they do tend to be heavy.

I did buy it. It’s really well built. I just got done shielding it and installing new pots. Great neck on mine.

Anyone know if the Korean neck is a direct fit to current squier precision bodies, like the Classic Vibe. Thanks
