19mm Ken Smith Five String

Patitucci has a sixer that looks exactly like this, and it sounds rediculously jazzy. Buy it if you have the money... seriously, I would if I have 3 grand.
I don't have a spare three grand so I will have to settle for enjoying the gorgeous photos. Fortunately, I have just picked up a nice Cirrus, so I do have access that so nice Smith-style tone.

Nice! I have a Smith Black Tiger on order...I would have went with 19mm spacing, but it's a $400 upcharge.
I just saw a Sadowsky on there I wanted soooo badly but I was about $250 short of being able to afford it. I went ahead and got the next best thing IMO, a Valenti with pretty much the same specs as that one I wanted. So, in a way, I'm kind of in the same boat as you as far as getting a similar tone from a different bass. Too bad I have to wait 6 months to play it. Oh well, it's still on the way.

Exactly...I sat down and played a few similar Smith basses with 18mm spacing and they were so comfortable and easy to play that I can't imagine that 1mm difference being worth an additional $400.
