1x10 cab. atop a 1x15?

I A/B'd my new RBH 1X15 cab. and one of my 2X10 cabs to see which would be better as a stand alone cab with my Fusion 550 head; well just as I figured, the 1x15 sounds WAY better, warmer, fuller, punchier and clearer as well; BUT, there was something sorta nice running both cabs together but maybe just a little too much mid-rangy-ness coming from the 2X10. I tweaked and turned knobs on the amp, cab and bass trying to find that "sweet spot" that would unite the two cabs but nah, the rig sounds better (to me) with just the 1x15 cab (with the tweeter pretty much maxed). So it got me thinking: if the 2X10 is a bit much; How about a nice 1x10 cab to go with the 1x15? I think for my needs that just may be the setup I need - (or another 1x15:woot:) So, Has anyone tried this combo (1×15 w/a 1x10) with great success? I'd love to hear how that'd sound. ... I believe Peavey made a 1x18 +1x10 cab BITD if I'm not mistaken. :D

You're going to be very limited by the 1x10 on what power you can handle, which may not be an issue for you of course. In your place, and if I had the budget for a sufficiently high power rated unit I might consider an L-pad volume control in the 2x10, so that I could dial it down until I found the sweet spot. Seems to me that finding a 1x10 with the same sonic characteristics as your 2x10 and the right sensitivity to deliver the balance you want is rather a big ask.

However... I haven't heard of this being done (volume control) and its very likely there are good reasons why not, so interesting to see what comes out.

I asked Genzler support about running his array 10 and 15 with a 500w Markbass Little Vintage D2 4ohm. I also asked about the power concerns as stated by JimChjones. Jeff Genlzer replied to me directly with this response about HIS Genzler Array cabinets specifically:
"certainly running a BA10-2 cabinet on top of a BA15-3SLT would make a very nice complimentary stack. The BA15-3SLT will provide great depth and roundness in the bottom end along with great mid-range clarity. Adding the BA10-2 to the top will add even more clarity and most likely a little more top-end sparkle as those smaller Array speakers are a little brighter than those on the BA15-3SLT cab."
