What are you trying to accomplish? Mixing cabs or a great sound?
Mix if it sounds great. If you're simply buying because you imagine it'll sound great, then get a cab you like and then another.
I’m sure it works. And as long as it works for you, rock it! But is it better than a adding matched 210 extension? Maybe, maybe not. One will never really know until one has tried it.Not for every gig, but I use a Rumble 500 V3 combo with a 112 extension cab. Same thing. Sounds amazing. Anyone that tells you this combination doesn't work has either never tried it or they're just wrong.
I don't drink the matched cabs kool-aid. For nearly 17 years, I gigged with a 115 and 410 stack. No one ever complained until I joined TalkBass. Never heard of that Bill guy.I’m sure it works. Bill Fitzmaurice has said that adding second cab, matched or unmatched, will almost always sound better than one cab alone, but it’s often less optimal the adding a matched cab.
But like i said before, rock what works for you.
No one here is complaining, friend. Rock what you like. Bill is a guy who knows a little about acoustics and cab design.I don't drink the matched cabs kool-aid. For nearly 17 years, I gigged with a 115 and 410 stack. No one ever complained until I joined TalkBass. Never heard of that Bill guy.
I use the SB112 and 2-10 (both avatars) and sometimes the Shuttle 6.0T and 2-10 or sb112. All good.dont, just dont
I don't have one but a friend of mine was playing locally when I lived in Virginia and I went to see him. He was using an Eden Metro (210) with an Eden D112XLT on top of it. Was a large club (capacity over 600) and the club was full. I was a bit surprised, but it more than filled that packed room. He sounded really good at the dance floor and also at the back of the room.I have an Eden 2x10. An Eden 1x12 combo is for sale
locally. 2x10 is 4 ohms, combo is 8 ohm cab.
Combo can do 2 ohm load.
Just wondering how the 2x10 will match with a 1x12.
