1x15 to complement Avatar 2x10?

I'm currently thinking about a local deal I had with someone to trade my Mesa/Boogie 4x10 for an Avatar 2x10 and 1x12. I might skip out on the 1x12, or just sell it, but I'd like to look at a 1x15 to go with the 2x10.

Being that Avatar doesn't make 1x15 cabs anymore, and I don't find them very often for sale, any advice on a good brand to go with it? I don't want to spend more than $500 on the cab, and I'd also like for it to be light and easy to move around.

The Dr Bass 115 would work pretty well with the Avatar if you always had the Avatar on its side. The Dr Bass 115 is 20" wide and the Avatar 18" tall so they could make a nice verticle stack. I have one with a Kappalite neo and it's very light and easy to carry and it has great low end grunt. It doesn't go super low but I've got some very good results down to a low B at loud levels . I have driven it hard and haven't been able to make it bottom out either.

The one I have I pair up with a DR Bass 310 neo with Deltalite 2510s like the ones in the Avatar 210 for big gigs so the sound should be similar. With the 310 and the Dr Bass 115 I have no trouble hearing myself on the loud stages,the mids cut and the whole low end stays tight.

These come up used in the classifieds,I think there is one on there now. The Extreme 115 cabs might be a good deal too,they have these in stock most of the time. The build time for new cabs is pretty long but I've bought two new cabs from Marc and for me it was worth it for sure. If you can't or don't want to wait the Extreme cabs or used cabs is best.

First - Why did you move off the Mesa 4x10 ?

Second - you might want to spend a little time with that 1x12 & 2x10 stack. I ran that setup for a while and it sounds pretty good. It's pretty close to what I got from a Schroeder 21012L.

Last - I own a Bag End 1x15 (S15X-D) and had an Avatar 2x10 up until recently That is not a pairing that makes any sense at all to me. The 2x10 goes much deeper and is mich less efficient - this would be a nasty sounding pairing IMO.

I like the voicing of the 1x12 cab a lot more than the 2x10 cab so I kept the 1x12. I'm making a matching 1x12 woofer only cab to compliment it. The 2x10 will go louder if you have the power to drive it though.

For one, I don't like the heavy mid sound of it (its an older Diesel model). And secondly, I want something modular so it'd be easier to move back and forth between college or whatever I need it for.

And I don't know what it was, but I just wasn't feeling it for the 1x12. I felt like the tone wasn't very meaty.
