Do the new stingray basses have the same pre amp as the original pre ernie ball stingrays. Is there any difference in tone between the new 2 bands and the 3 band eq's on the new stingray basses?

2 band eq stingrays

It's been reported by EB that they're the same preamp as the late '78 to 83 preEB preamps.
My '07 2eq Ray sounds identicle to my '81 Ray. Both are maple board, and near the similar weight range.
My early '78 Ray has the famed black epoxy preamp which sounds a tad different (warmer).
