First, why can't you cut or copy what you're writing when responding in a thread? I've been irked by this for a long time and I'm curious what the reason is?
I just spent about 25 minutes giving a long thoughtful response to a topic, and when I went to submit it, it timed out for some reason and my response was gone. I was concerned that that might have happened (it has in the past) but there was nothing I could do to save it. It's frustrating to say the least.

Second, I know it's against the rules to question or discuss moderators decisions, but what happens when we really feel something is off? I recieved an infraction the other day that's permanantly imbedded on my "my talkbass" page, and I think it's ridiculous considering what I posted. Just have to accept it. Seems if a moderators opinion of something is 'it's no good', then we have to suffer the consequences. There is stuff on the board right now which has been going for day that far more offensive than what I posted, but we can't discuss why that topic is up and why I got slapped. Can we? I'm not giving any details so I hope I'm not breaking the rules right now, but I'd like to know. Is there any recourse if we feel we've been misjudged?

If you can't copy your text, there's something going on locally on your computer. There's nothing on TalkBass to prevent you from selecting and copying (or cutting) text.

I've lost responses too in the past. The simple solution I have developed for writing long winded replies is to open up whatever text editor I have on the computer I am working with (MS Word, Wordpad, Notepad, etc...) and craft my response there. It's more comfortable to work with and I can save the thing as often as I want...then I can copy and paste it right into the reply window.
