2 Ohm Amps

I run a Sansamp RBI into a Stewart 2.1. I run just one side (it's dual mono) at 2 ohms into one cab and it absolute kills! You could run each side at 4 ohms one for each cab and I think it rates at 600 watts per channel!

With the X-over turned off both amps receive and deliver the same goods.

Not really. Usually there are two or so On ebay, and they sell for under $400 not including shipping. Just aren't any up right now, but give it a week or two.

Carvin B1500 handles 2ohms with little effort and you can find them in the classified or CL at a really good price.

Very true, the B1500 is the older version of the B2000. These will go to 2 Ohms effortlessly, but aren't bi-amps like the BX models.

I think Ashdown makes some neat stuff, but with no intention of sounding like a snob, I am looking for something higher quality in the Genz Benz 12, Ampeg SVT-4 range.

I run my Carvin B800 at 2 ohms all the time. It doesn't break a sweat.

+1 for Carvin. I run my BX500 at 2 ohms all the time and it works just fine.

Peavey Nitro Bass 450, Max 450, (same amp) is pretty cheap, ditto Genz Benz GBE 600, both are considered old and obsolete by most that have the "gotta have the latest thing" mentality, and are super reliable. Your EarCandy cabs won't handle much more power than they'll dish out anyway.

My primary amp is a G-B Shuttle 6.0...wonderful amp! Hope the ShuttleMAX works for you.

I also have a Sunn Coliseum-300 as backup; it's good for 300W at 2 ohms. They do show up here and there...and they have a fantastic EQ section - 7 bands with a preamp on each EQ pot.

All of the Eden WT heads since 2005-6 will do 2 ohms, or 4 ohms bridged in the 2 channel units. WT405, WT550, WT800C, WT1205, also the newer WTB700.
