2009 Ibanez SR405QM Pick up Swap out

Hey Bass Brothers and Sisters. I recently picked up an older Ibanez SR405 Partially out of a serious need I have ( I have Ankylosing Spondilits , An Auto Immune disease that is Fusing my Hips/Spine/Neck .... Mick Mars of Motley Crue has the same thing ) So I picked up the Ibanez for the LIGHT Weight and Thin neck. I LOVE how it plays but HATE the tone. I am looking at swapping out the Preamp for a NOLL TCM2 first ( For $$$ Reasons ) . Should I swap out the Pre amp first or the Pickups to get rid of that MID SCOOP Tone??? Thanks in advance ....

If you don't like the sound of it with all the EQ knobs at noon, you simply don't like the pickups.
Ibanez is using PowerSpan pickups in the newer SR405EQM, but the Nordstrands in their Premium Soundgears are even better.

I am Looking into a set of Nordstrand Big Singles for it right now ..... They sound Amazing

I am primarily using this bass for an Alt - Country type band. Single guitar / Harmonica / Drums / Myself so having a nice full deep low end is important. I bought the bass for the thin neck and weight as opposed to my other 5’s for live stuff. ( Spectors ) again I love the playability of the Bass just not happy at all with the tone.

I know what you mean. I think you are definitely on the right track with the big singles.
Try to find and test a split coil voiced humbucker too; I think Aguilar's is a Big Split.
