It is a shame , ive wanted a Jazz with a maple fretboard for ages , but if its gonna cost me another £200 then I think im gonna have to pass on it and buy used

Ah, prices keep going up up up, but the maple is a cool option, hopefully they keep some of the colors like chrome red and electron blue with it, they'd look nice paired up with maple!

I think the '09 models also will be available with some new colour options, like Lake Placid Blue and Candy Apple Red.

They have the black and TTS out. I agree with the Vintage (Olympic) white with rw/bnb would be sweet. Especially if I could get a 5. I'd do the 4 though, especially with maple and bnb.

This is a great decision on Fender's part. They really had to do something to spice up the Standard line to keep it desireable in the face of the very nice VM and VV Squires.

I guess the less is more concept is true here, beings a bass with a Maple board is easier to produce than one with a Rosewood board!

Is the picture of the LPB precision one of the new MIM's? It doesn't have "Made In Mexico" on the headstock like the other Standard MIM's.
So any release date?
