2010 Warwick Rockbass?

The new Warwick Rockbasses look pretty amazing. I've always wanted a Warwick, but I'm a 17 year old student, poor as a bum, and this is all I can afford. They have MEC pups, Warwick hardware, the works. What do you think? Will they satisfy my Warwick lust until I'm old and rich?

I'd like to hear how your going to get rich lol, I'd like to be rich one day also. I played a 2010 Rockbass $$ and it sounded great, I couldn't compare it to a "Real" Warwick but, it sounded really nice.

I haven't seen any of them in the flesh (wood?) yet but supposedly they're better than the old Rockbasses.

I've enjoyed the handful that I've played. Go for it.
If you don't like it, you can always return it.

A big +1. While nice, IMO and IME the Rockbasses just aren't in the same league as the German-made 'Wicks. Of course, I love me some heavy bubinga and ovangkol

I didn't think of that. =]
I snagged my Corvette for $350 w/ case and
you can regularly grab a Thumb for around $1G.

I agree with going used on a real one. I've played a Corvette Basic and Streamer LX Rockbass, and though it somewhat has the Warwick feel in the neck, it just doesn't have the essence of a Warwick. They're still pretty good basses, but I would never pay as much as they are for one and would get a used real one for sure.

Definitely go for a used real 'Wick. The newer Rockbasses are nice (my local tech put it best - it's like they are trying to put themselves out of business with the new Rockbassses), to be sure... but they are a whole different animal from a true Warwick. Wait a bit, they come around for decent prices used here or there!
