2012 Fender Precision MIM

... received this bass from Fredr last week ,
and it has already moved into rotation of my favorite basses ...

it's a 2012 MIM Precision , loaded with EMG Geezer Butler pickup .

... slapped on a fresh set of Thomastik-Infeld JF 344 flats ,
an aged white pearloid guard , and it sounds and feels awesome !!

2012/2013 was some kinda year for the MIM plant. They put out so many unique models (pawn shops, road worns, dimension bass, etc.) Fender was experimenting like crazy.

2012/2013 MIM have the best lake placid blue and CAR all metallic goodness!

If I remember right, 2012 is the year Fender upgraded a lot of the hardware on their basses. My 2016 American P has TI flats and the Geezer pickup and wiring. The best part about the EMG is the fact that the tone knob actually works!

Nice choice!
My first bass was a 98 MIM-P that I put the same pups and strings on, and it sings with such great tone.
Putting a Babicz bridge on it really improved the sustain.
