Thank you for your review, very well done! I really dig the unique look of this bass and have been checking out a few videos online. From what I've heard and read, if I do decide to pursue it I may have to add a few mods to suite my tonal pallet. Besides that it still looks like a good quality Ibby.
If you do find one you may be surprised how few mods you will want to do. String choice has a big effect on the tone of these Basses.
There is a good bit of variation in the treble frequencies when you cut the active treble boost of the magnetic pickup and use the tone of the piezo to control the highs. It's almost as if set flat the treble frequencies from each pickup are competing, when you let one dominate the tone change is dramatic. Fully removing the treble of the magnetic pickup yields a very punchy and present clean tone. Very punchy in the treble frequencies in the most pleasing way.
