2021 Player P bass output jack

So my new bass is fantastic except for one thing. My cord very easily falls out of the output jack. Am I correct in assuming that I can replace it with any old guitar Switchcraft or Puretone jack I got laying around for a much tighter fit? Nothing special required for bass?

Yes. Especially Switchcraft.

Before you replace it, take a pair of needle nose pliers and see if you can bend the tip contact of the output jack inward a bit to increase its tension on the tip of the plug. Bring new, it shouldn’t be so loose it needs replacement already.

Is the output jack mounted onto the top on the pickguard or the side of the bass?

Thank you and yes I thought this was odd as it came right out of the box not off a stand. I was noodling around on a player Tele and I had to really push and pull hard to get the jack out. the jack is on the tail end of the pickguard.

Love that color!…

That should be an easy task of removing the pickguard screws, lifting up the pickguard to get to the output jack, and bend the long tip contact in a bit.

I never cared for tortoise style pick guards but I wouldn't want any other on this. I'm really happy with it.
