2024 Boss Roundup

Newbie here. Just joined. But I've been a player and effect collecter for decades.

Curious where you guys stand on Boss in late 2024. Which Boss's make the cut for bass usage?

Me personally I love all my brown Boss bass pedals, particularly the LM-2b. I've never played a better compressor pedal, and it was only $50 bucks.

I still rock an RV-3 and PS-3.

Which ones are you still using?

Cool pedal. I have an idiotbox Mad Dr Stutter that seems to be similar. What do you use the slicer for? I still can't quite figure out a use for my Mad Dr, although admittedly I'm sorta conservative in my approach.

The Slicer is almost like having a drummer or keyboard player in the room. It's like an idea machine - every combination of settings turns you in a new direction. It's also fun combining it with delay.

I like most if not all the Boss pedals I've tried over the years. I need to recoup it but the ODB3 is still one of my favs. OC2 is great but I really wish it had a master output volume. I have an SL2 as well and while I think it's a really fun pedal, I always had output issues with it (too much to the point it clips anything any time I used it). The SY1 is awesome! As well as the OC5. I know I'm missing a few that I'd consider noteworthy to me. the PS6 was really cool and wish I would've kept it. Loved the divebomb option on it. Oh and the DD series of delays. I've had a number of those and still have a DD3. Have had and really liked the MD500 and the DD500. Really cool pedals.

I still would really like to try the tone master pro or the GX10. I think they are probably just as good as most others offered in that space.

Awesome. I have a DSD-2 with the same "long chip" as the early DD-3's. Amazing sound. Digital yet analog at the same time.

So you're asking about Boss pedals in late 2024, but your examples are disco'd models from decades ago? ;)

My Boss RCL-10 compressor just wired-fatigued this week (power input plug) -- 36 years after I bought it. Might replace it with same model.
