Ok so i want to get an Eden WT55o with either a D212XLT or a D215XLT. Does anybody have an opinion as to which cab is better? Also is either cab capable of getting louder than the other one? and the last question, is 100 watts of head room from the WT550 at 4ohms enough?

212 vs 215?

Fuf, I had the Eden 215XLT driven with a Eden WT550 head, (they were stolen back in Nov. of last year). I'm in a loud, 6 pcs., country/rock group and I've got P.A. support most of the time. Were playin' everything from animal clubs to outside fair dates. This cab was used as a stand-alone.
All I can say is the 215XLT was great, huge lows, filled the stage, and projection like few other cabs can match. It's only down side is it hasn't got a fast response like 12's or 10's....but it was the fastest 215 cab I've played through to date. It was also the best sounding 215 I've played through.
I'm now using my old GK800 head into a Eden 212XLT cabinet. I "MUCH" prefer the 212XLT. It's lows are very near what I had from the 215XLT, projection is about the same (according to our sound man), but it seems to cut through the band alittle better. It has a much faster response, lighter in weight, and very easy to move around.
When I can afford to rebuild my rig it'll probably be either....#1.... two 212XLT'S with a WT 550 or WT 405 head....or....#2....A 212XLT with a 210XST and a WT550 head.

A 212 gives the best of both worlds: speed and warm low end.
The WT550 should decimate with either cabinet.
ASlright everybody, thanks for the advice, i think ill have to get a WT550 and a D212XLT. I do have another question though........would adding another cabinet to the mix be a bad thing? It would over power the amp and any headroom i might have, right?
i use an aguilar gs 212 (4ohm) somtimes alone at gigs with a gbe 750. it works really well and like everyone has said before, it provides nice deep lows but also retaines a quick response. i know the aggie and eden will be voiced differently but if you like the eden sound, id say a 212xlt with the wt550 is a great match.
I also add a gs210 (8 ohm) to my stack for larger venues and just when i feel like bringing the extra cab around. This brings my total ohms to around 2.66. Adding the 210 makes a great improvement on my sound and allows my 750 to utilize more power. the 550 i believe can go down to 2 ohms and pumps out 700 or so watts around that. after you get the 212xlt, adding another 210 down the road would be a great setup and you would be prepared for pretty much anything

I used a 550/212 rig or a long time, traded the 212 for a 215, then sold the 215 to replace the 212. It is a great set-up!!!!
