I've been thinking of getting a bottom of the line Spector (REX 4). Are they any good at all? They sure look sweet.
interesting, because I just saw an ad on craigslist for one of those for $220.

i have a bottom of the line spector performer 4DLX, somehow mine ended up with silver hardware.
Likes: amazing finish, loveee the trans red finish, plays beautiful after some setup(action was wayyy too high)
Dislikes: EMG-SSD pickups, wayy too thin, had to resolder the ground wire back to the pot aswell, cheap black plastic knobs(have since been replaced with Fender style replacement knobs)
overall it's one hell of a bass for the price they want, i love mine. i would definately recommend one.

I love my Performer, it's been my gigging bass for a year and has taken one hell of a beating and keeps pushing through. I actually really like the EMGs in it for some reason, it's a good alternate to the epic lows from my tbird. I think I paid around $300 for mine.
Edit: Descent, you have pretty much the same gear as me, excluding the cab...weird. Do you like your Yorkville?

Wow what a ignorant opinion. Even though it's cheap it's still a spector which is a step above over entry level even though it's a small step, kind of like a millenium bxp ac. Also cheap doesn't mean it's bad and something to ignore.
i love it, except for my band plays in B, so it sounds a little muddy with the 15 alone, and for some reason it has too much mid. but, i got it for half price at a sale brand new with warranty, so i'm not complaining.
Hey, it's time for folks to start realizing, inexpensive basses are getting much better. Korean companies are getting their act together and actually putting out some very good product. If it weren't so, would companies like PRS and others be staking even their low end reputations on Korean manufacturer's for building their products? Some low end instruments by Korean companies are giving U.S. made, higher quality instruments a real run for the money these days.
Exactly i'm proud of having my btb Korean made, China, Indonesia, Mexico, India, Taiwan and Vietnam are the cheaper ones now. Korea=Good kinda like Japan in the 80's. Korea labor is getting more expensive and that's why 400$-700$ instruments are Korean and most entry level basses are made in those other countries I listed. South Korea is now a 1st world country that had a huge economic boom, sweatshops are illegal and workers get a steady wage.
1st American/Canadian/European
2nd Japanese
3rd Korean
After that it's mainly the other countries that I listed in an order I don't even know.
