2x15" cabs

You can pick up a US made Crate SLM era 215 for 100 bucks or less. After trying a ton of cabs when I was looking for a 215 I picked that one. They sound darn good, are cheap, and lighter than most of the other 215 cabs I played.

I am sure the Bergantino and Mesa cabs sound better, but 600-800 dollars better? Not to my ears, but I was playing cover rock.

I just read the Barefaced is not wide enough to put a tube amp (SVT) on it. Doh! Strange because I would think that 2x15" cabs are more popular with tube folks. That's too bad :bawl:

You're using a Genz Benz Streamliner 900. That should match very nicely with the Super Fifteen tonally & cosmetically. I fail to see the problem.

Easy enough to move the amp feet inward a bit to get it to set right on the cab. Sure it will hang over the edges a bit but most people won't notice when they're being pounded in the chest with bass and find it hard to take a breath.

+1 to Mesa/Boogie still making a 215 cab in regular production (and in two different styles, the PowerHouse and Vintage PowerHouse to choose from). I just picked up a early version of the 215 PowerHouse cab with EV speakers in it. Pure awesome!

There's a lot of happy Mesa 215 owners out there.

The main advantage I'd give to Barefaced or the Dually is that they sound at least as good and weigh about half. I believe the PH215 weighs 123lbs?

This is literally the worst sounding cab that Mesa ever released.

Impossible. Its got 4x10s and a 115. The magic combination.

Its in one cabinet to satisfy the (youll blow the 15) crowd and its got FOUR TENS and a FIFTEEN to satisfy the people that want 4x10s for "punch" and a fifteen for "bottom"

So to you I say nay.

It was a joke recommendation for those of you who hated the cab too much to think about that.

However that 2x15 cab is nice, top and side handles, rear dolly style casters, its the real deal.

Contact them and ask about it. Since they make these cabs, they might be willing to change the width for you to accomodate the SVT.

There's also a new Greenboy authorized builder on that side of the pond so the Dually and F215 would be in the running too.
