3 String bass

Nowadays there are so many basses, with so many strings.
But it had been cool to have a three string bass
Does this exist?

yeah read the description on the Hotwire site... it's actually pretty interesting. That is what those three knobs are on the left.

I'm thinking... what effect would be neat to pop in a bass? Imagine having all of Bootsy's pedal board installed in your bass? Oh wait, MIDI... ahh never mind.

Well, its for people that really wanna be a ''Bass" player, as the G string isn't really a bass string (i consider only E and A to be bass strings) they have no desire for it, so they get it taken off. So you're left with a instrument that plays the lowest of the low notes and no high ****, the real bass players bass

There was a one string Plasma on the Sandberg site a while back, so it can certainly be done

EDIT: So, how would a 3-string bass play into the whole "Jaco only needed 4 strings" argument?
