34" scale Mustang/Bronco

I did;nt say it would work well.You wanna put a full scale neck on a short scale body there will have to be tradeoffs.I think you's be better served to get a 32" scale bass.I had a 32" warmoth jazz and loved it.I have a 31" scale birdsong that is also a very very nice bass.

I'm more comfortable on a 34" scale neck. I find myself jumping frets on a 32 or lower.

I'm ok with having to recess the neck pocket further. I just want it to look like the neck belongs there when I'm done.

I put a 1969 P-Bass neck on a Mustang Bass body back in the eighties; the neck had it's frets removed & the board had been epoxied ala Jaco. I had already put a P-pickup in the Mustang. I did leather work at the time so I covered the body with some old leather that I had. I stained it dark brown except for some roses & hummingbirds (I think).

I don't remember having to move the bridge too far (I did use the P-bass bridge), if at all. This was in the beginning years of my learning to build instruments; In my mind, I remember it looking & playing really nicely, but I wonder what I would think about today. I would love to see it again (I lived in Oklahoma City at the time).

So yes, it is possible.

FYI: The neck pocket is about 2 1/4 wide...
about same width as the SX 32" basses.

So, it's only 1/4" shy of the Fender 2.5" heel. That's only 1/8" off each side, and then however deep I have to go towards the bridge. Shouldn't be too bad with a proper router & template.
