34'' scale STRINGS on 36' scale NECK bass?

OK, dumb question from a dummy :o

I accidentally bought Thomastik JR344 for my 36" neck Fender "Power Special" Jazz Bass...

should I go to the trouble of swapping the JR344 set a JR364 set...

or can I fly with the JR334s on this bass rig :help:

Here's a link to [Invalid or Expired Link Removed][/URL] web page, for their Bass Strings; just scroll down to the 'Jazz E-Bass' section, and hit: '4 String Set' (they have all the specs for 32"-34"-36" scale strings)

Any advise :ninja: would be appreciated.

Usually, if the string fits, use it. However, the TI's use different construction for their strings or different scale lengths. Most other companies just lengthen/shorten the wind length but keep the same core-to-wrap ratio. With TI's you should buy the proper ones for that scale, otherwise your tensions will be off and would affect tone, playability and maybe even cause string damage.
