From the about section of the website: "Pike Amplification makes products for bass. Founded in 2015 by the owner of 3Leaf Audio and former head of operations for Darkglass Electronics, Pike Amplification was born out of a desire to build innovative products that sound great on stage and in studio. All Pike Amplification products are made by musicians in Seattle, Washington."

For what it's worth the OD on the Vulcan doesn't sound like the B3K or VMT to me. The EQ points of the four band EQ on the XL also sound different than my old B7k. Maybe closer to the Enabler but with separate high & low mid knobs instead of a frequency selector switch?

That said, I'm really not understanding the visual/design similarity to Doug's stuff.

Lots of leftover parts inventory? Deliberate thumb in the eye? Both?

A bit confused by this. The 'and former head...' portion of that sentence leads one to understand that Spencer Doren is the one and only man behind Pike Amplification. So, is this the case? If so, I guess I didn't know that he was an employee of Darkglass Electronics.

Good point. He used to build the Darkglass pedals at his workshop in Seattle until things went sour and the partnership ended. I interpreted that sentence to mean that he's teamed up with someone else who used to work at Darkglass for this Pike Amplification venture, but it could be an awkward way of saying that he's both the owner of 3Leaf and a former Darkglass employee.

Edit: I've received clarification that Spencer is the only former Darkglass employee/contractor/partner involved with Pike. Interesting stuff for sure...

I read it like a Resume. Why not include former experience, especially in launching a new brand? I'm not up to date on all of the drama that apparently happened, I just gig regularly and have never had issues with my Wonderlove or Octabvre. Oh, and they also sound amazing! I'm psyched for Spencer and hope the "Amplification" in Pike Amplification implies that at some point, he designs a bass head. I trust his ears and will continue to follow and support his work.

The only thing I'm really interested in is why these aren't 3Leaf pedals? I've not had, nor heard one complaint that I can remember about ANYTHING 3Leaf. Why the new company instead of adding another layer to the golden cake? Honest question, I hate drama so I'm leaving it at this!

I'm assuming it's to keep the 3Leaf name out of the muck if DG takes legal action.
