Wow I just happen to plug back in the day of a big drop by Spencer LOL. Impressive essay on his homepage. Sharp guy. Max respect for anyone who can articulate principles and stick by them…. (Even though I imagine the response is mainly: SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!)

I think too that the Japanese Proton cost a little bit more than some of the other Proton releases (possibly because of import duties, it being a Japan-only version, but not sure).
The essay is a nice companion to Adrian Legg's take on buying cheap knock-offs instead of the (original) products sold by the people who designed and made them. Essentially: don't do it. Thought and action to make the kind of world you want to live in.
In all honesty, and no offense intended…. That is probably the kindest & most sincere of his ramblings I’ve read.
Side note: there’s a large steel plant in my home area, and it made me smile to know how much he’s trying to support local economies.

New website update says he's shipping them starting today. I was pretty sure he had mentioned delaying this months release so that the ship times were closer to the batch release, but couldn't quite remember.

i generally prefer passive for all pedals and effects, but you're going to get some wildly differing opinions on this one. my wonderlove sounds better with passive
I thought but wasn’t sure it sounded better passive but still playing around with it.
I actually received mine today. Shipped from Seattle to Boston in under 48 hours with the cheapest shipping option... not bad. Fluoresces kind of an orange color.
That's not fair! I'm 173 miles south on I-5 from Spencer and still have nothing. LOL Looks great!
