Any opinions on the difference sound wise between the 12" and 15' Mesa Scout Cabs? I tried the 12" but haven't been able to find a 15"
Thanks in advance

But it is difficult, if not impossible. No personal attack intended, though I admit to the wise*ss reply. We've seen the question asked a hundred times. One man's tone is another man's noise.
The difference in cabs depends on the cab design more than the driver size. One can't make generalizations about 10s vs 12s vs 15s.
And there's no way to decide without hearing the cab. Hearing another player use one is better than nothing, but a lot of one's tone is in the playing style. And someone else's band doesn't sound like yours.
PS: Don't be swayed by manufacturer specs. There's no standard for testing, so they're often not accurate. And since they don't show the entire frequency range of the cab, you don't know whether it's going to have peaks and valleys in its response. That translates to tone.
put your question in the thread title.
Hey...in three years I might resent that.Others are 60 years old...
They have fond memories of that time and rave about the amp's unbelievable sound that you just "can't get in modern amps".
I'll apologize for being a grumpy wisearse, but my point was very different from Rick's. If you have a question, and you expect somebody who is competent to answer it to actually find your thread and give you a competent answer, then put your question in the thread title. At least put the subject, like "Walkabout 12" vs. 15"" or something like that.
I've used both and prefer the 12, not so much for the sound, but because it's much more portable. If I didn't have to carry one I'd go with the 15. I used the Walkabout Scout 12" combo for 4 years and gigged with it every weekend. Worked great for me.
But all you're going to get from asking is a bunch of personal opinion coming from a lot of people with different tastes and wildly varying musical abilities. You won't believe the comments from different people concerning the same product. Nobody can agree on anything so they split up into camps promoting their own favourites. A lot of people give opinions on products they've never even heard. Some guys are 15 years old and can barely tune their bass yet are experts about sound. Others are 60 years old and the last time they bought an amp was in high school. They have fond memories of that time and rave about the amp's unbelievable sound that you just "can't get in modern amps". Some guys give honest answers based on experience, but they aren't you and don't know how you play or what you want it to sound like.
Some guys like a thin sound that sticks out in front of the band. Others like a sound that has bottom end and supports the band. Others just want it really loud and clean while others want it to sound loud and distorted.
I only trust my own ears. If you can't try it out first yourself, don't buy it.
