4001 vs. Guild B-301 - Which should I borrow for a gig?

Those Guild B-basses are interesting hybrids: mahogany body, set neck, and 2+2 tuners like a Gibson of some sort, but with single coil pickups like a Fender. Pickup placement is buggy on the B-302 (I used to own one) and some harmonics just disappear with both pickups engaged. Interesting sound, though: a bit Rickyish.

My take? Use the Guild. You may not get another chance to play one and the world is full of Rickenbackers.

Absolutely the Ric. Ric's are a love it/hate it kinda thing, and you've been offered the opportunity to find out which side of the fence you're on. It'd take that opportunity if I were you.
