412 vs 810?

was wondering, does anyone know if the ashdown 810 uses 32ohm speakers and if so what type?
have a possible trade in the works for one and there doesn't seem to be much info on any of the forums i have found so far..

What folks are getting at OP, with the question as asked, the following is all that can be said about it:

4x12 has four twelve inch drivers and the 8x10 has eight ten inch drivers. There is absolutely nothing upon which to establish a preference. Maybe the 8x10 would have slightly better dispersion? I dunno.

Which would I prefer? Well if I had to chose between two cabinets that were equal in tone, effeciency, powerhandling, overal sound and weight - I'd choose the one that was easiest to move. And that'd prolly be the 8x10.



I'm curious about why you would care about driver impedance.

Afaik...the Ashdown 810 is pretty much an Ampeg 810E clone. Again. ..afaik. . It has 4 separate 210 compartments... all sealed.
And apart from, here in Aus at least, the resale value of the Ashdown is paltry. ... they're supposed to be pretty nice cabs.
As far as the impedance of the individual drivers - I know nowt.

Oh and if you're looking at 412's... the Bergantino NV412 is absolutely stunning. Even without a tweeter, it's got plenty of highs and lotsa lows. ..and it's a sealed cab.

If you're interested in speaker area and weight, a 412 is almost equal to a 610.
That doesn't necessarily mean that all 810's are louder than all 412's.
