I agree. This is why I sold mine in favour of the 2 410HE's
The hlf has a complete different sound.

Used a svt pro3 with the 410hlf I owned.. I found it to be plenty loud but "boomy"..

That is true, I used acoustic guitar hole plugs (feedback savers) to plug 2 of the ports to clean it up. I used a IIIPro as well and used the graphic band at 40 HZ to back off on the mud. IMO Ampeg is muddy across the board vs so many other choices out there. However, some choices must me made based off of what is available with in a given country.
